It’s Not What’s in Your Bank Account That’s Hurting You Most

Let’s talk about something that almost nobody wants to talk about…

Shame.

Especially shame in your relationship with money.

Now I know—that’s not exactly a fun or inspiring topic. But it’s an important one. Because for so many women I’ve worked with, shame is the invisible weight that keeps them stuck in patterns of scarcity. It’s like a second layer of scarcity—on top of the money stress, the debt, the pressure, the uncertainty.

And it keeps them from ever being able to truly heal what’s going on.

See, it’s one thing to be experiencing financial scarcity—maybe your income isn’t consistent… maybe you’re in debt… maybe you make great money, but it always feels like there’s never enough. That’s hard enough, right?

But when you start to believe those money results mean something about you—that they somehow define your worth, your intelligence, your goodness, your value—that’s when the shame creeps in.

And that’s when it gets really painful.

Because shame doesn’t just weigh you down emotionally.

It also blocks your access to the very things that could actually help you. Things like support. Compassion. Clarity. Connection. Courage. Even joy.

Let me ask you something…

Have you ever avoided looking at your bank account?
Put off opening the mail because you’re afraid of what’s inside?
Or maybe you’ve found yourself frantically Googling “how to fix my money” at 1:00 a.m.—but you’d be mortified if anyone found out?

That’s the grip of shame.

And I want you to know… you’re not alone.

One of the first signs that shame might be at play is when you start hiding.
From the numbers. From the truth. From other people. Even from yourself.

And I get it. I really do.
Shame—especially when it comes to money—is something that has haunted me most of my life.

Because when you’ve internalized the idea that your financial reality reflects your value as a person—it feels almost impossible to face it. You don’t want to see it. You just want it to go away. You keep hoping one day it’ll just… fix itself.

But it doesn’t. And it won’t.
Not until you’re willing to gently, lovingly, tell yourself the truth—and come out of hiding.

That’s the invitation here.
Not to judge yourself. Not to make yourself wrong.
But to finally see that your money patterns are not a reflection of your worth.

As financial psychologist Ted Klontz once wrote,
“Every behavior around money makes perfect sense when we understand the underlying beliefs we have about money.”
And I always add—AND ourselves.

Even the patterns that feel irrational… even the habits you don’t like… even the things you “should know better” than to do.
They all make sense—when you understand the deeper, often subconscious beliefs underneath them.

And more often than not?
Those beliefs are rooted in some version of “I’m not enough.”
Not smart enough. Not disciplined enough. Not successful enough. Not lovable enough. Not worthy enough.

That’s the REAL problem.

Not the debt. Not the spending. Not even the income gap.

It’s the shame that gets wrapped around those things—shame that keeps you stuck, disconnected, and afraid to reach for the support and clarity that could change everything.

So if this is hitting close to home—if your heart’s beating a little faster as you read this—I want you to hear me say this loud and clear:

There is NOTHING wrong with you.

You are a human being doing the best you can… carrying beliefs that never belonged to you in the first place.
Carrying beliefs that are absolutely NOT true—or, at the least, are NOT empowering.

And you don’t have to keep carrying them.

If you’re ready to take one small, brave step OUT OF HIDING…
If you’re ready to experience what changes when you stop making your money story mean something about your worth…

Then I would love to support you by hopping on Zoom with you to have a Discovery Call.
Not a sales pitch. Not a shame spiral.
Just a safe, compassionate space to explore what’s really going on—and what might be possible if you stopped hiding and started healing.

Because you don’t have to do this alone.

You were created BY abundance, IN abundance, FOR abundance.

But to experience—actually embody—this truth, you have to come out of hiding.
Because hiding creates a block—between you and all the resources available to support you to experience the abundance that is your birthright.

And this invitation is one such resource available to support you.

All you have to do is say YES.
