In the midst of this holiday season, I pray that this reflection finds you and your loved ones are healthy and safe.
If you have lost a loved one this past year, I pray that you experience love amidst your grief, peace in the midst of pain and the healing gift of hope in your heart.
No matter what holiday you’re celebrating, I’m guessing this year’s will not be like it has been in the past. And that may have you feel sad, disappointed, frustrated, lonely or mad. Your loss – of what is familiar – is also a grief.
Loss, grief, sadness, frustration… there’s been a LOT of that for all of us this year.
And so my prayer for you today is this…
I pray that in the midst of any loss you’re experiencing right now, you are also able to see what you still HAVE. And maybe even what you now have that is NEW.
Because I firmly believe that with death comes life, with loss comes new opportunity. That as destructive and horrible as forest fires are, they are also a catalyst for new life and growth.
I’m not asking you or any of us to deny our losses or pain. I am simply praying that you are able to see through or beyond them. That you can ALSO see the new possibilities, life and gifts that are present in your life. That have or will spring forth in the midst of it all.
Most of all, I pray that this holiday season is a time when you are able to more deeply recognize the gift of LIFE in you. And, in that, the gift of YOUR life. And in that, the gift that your life is in our world.
Because that is the truth, my friend…
YOU are a gift.
You ARE a gift.
You are a GIFT.
May you recognize, celebrate and treasure that gift – and all the other gifts you have and will receive – today and every day.
All my love ~
T.
